‘Happy’ Outcome for U21’s

Happylands 2 – 4 Edinburgh University 21s. On a cold wet Saturday afternoon in the heart of fife, the 21s battled through the wet conditions to further progress in the cup. The pitch was not in the greatest condition with mud being an important factor in dictating the play. The University lined up with: Rafiki Rhymes, James Connington, Conor Adamson, Liam Armstrong, Fraser Wallace, Shaun Hodgson, Ben Beaumont, Daniel, Michael Johnstone, Aidan Hersee, Evan Leonard.

The university took an early lead through a goal mouth scramble which saw Conor Adamson poke the ball home from a couple of yards. That advantage was quickly doubled as Aidan Hersee played a defence splitting pass to set up Dan silver who expertly finished it with an outside of the foot shot that went through the keepers leg. Happylands pulled a goal back with a delicate chip over Rafiki. 2-1 was the score at half time. the 21s went 3-1 up in the second half with an expert finish from Evan whose shot continue to rise into the net from 20 yards out. The result was almost secured when the ball was played across and Aidan finished it with the inside of his foot that found the top corner. Happylands got a goal back but the team was able to hold on to the results. Chances were spurned by both sides with the uni deserving the win. Shaun Hodgson was man of the match with a solid display on and off the ball in the middl of the park. Aidan and Evan also put in noticeable performances which helped see the 21s through to the next round of the cup in miserable conditions.
