Scottish Cup

Edinburgh University have been drawn at home to Spartans FC in the first round of the William Hill Scottish Cup. The draw sees another return to Peffermill for former University, now Spartans Manager Dougie Samuel with his new summer signings Jack Beacher and Danny Main returning to play against their former club for the first time.

University Manager, Dorian Ogunro said, “It’s a tough draw against a top side who have improved their squad with quality signings this summer. Spartans have a strong tradition of success in the Scottish Cup and we will certainly be the underdogs. It will be a real test for us against one of the best teams in the inaugural Lowland League. But we have a chance if we can perform on the day and we will definitely have a go! There should be a good crowd providing to a great support and everyone associated with EUAFC will be looking forward to what should be a fantastic game”.

The tie is due to take place on 14th September 3pm kick off.
