What does it mean to play for EUAFC?

Playing for EUAFC has been the best way to keep playing football at a decent level as well as meeting the best bunch of boys on campus. I haven’t felt a sense of belonging to a club like I have at EUAFC and I would strongly encourage anyone coming to Edinburgh to get involved in the club if they are looking to perform at a high level whilst being part of the best club in the Sports Union. One Club, One Love.

Playing for EUAFC is by far the best use of your time outside of your studies. It gives you opportunities to meet so many new friends, play good quality football and socialise, all whilst studying for your degree. Over the past three years, being part of the club has become a huge part of my life, and it is what I look forward to most when returning to Edinburgh each September. What does it mean to play for EUAFC?

I joined the club in my first year after taking three years out from sport. University would not be the same for me had I not joined EUAFC. The club allowed me to broaden my friendship group and meet so many like minded people on and off the pitch, which is something we all strive for. EUAFC brought another dynamic to my university life and joining is something that I would never change.

Playing for and representing EUAFC is something I am extremely proud of. The club has a rich history and provides me with the opportunity to play football at a high level and this is something I am thankful for. EUAFC provides a real platform to go and perform at a high level. In my time at the club I’ve seen us come up against some of the top amateur teams in the country and win trophies. What does it mean to play for EUAFC?

I first found out about EUAFC from my dad, who was a former Club Captain here. He told me about how special this club is and from the three years I have been here I can see why he loved playing at East Peffermill. From the players, coaches and the development committee members, everyone makes you feel at home here. With top coaching and training facilities, as well as playing against top opposition every week with friends you’ll catch up with long after university, I always feel proud when representing EUAFC.

What does it mean to play for EUAFC?

I always feel privileged to play for the club having missed out in the first summer trials before forcing my way in come winter. The boys in the club make it so easy to get down to training every week and they have made it the most enjoyable environment to play in. Between the boys and the ethos of the club I feel extremely proud every time I get to wear the green and blue on match days.
